So you’d like to purchase beef sure in the knowledge that it has been humanely bred and processed as quickly as possible; what happens next?
We have an arrangement with a small family-owned butcher shop in Gympie where, after the sides have been aged appropriately, they are boned out, sliced and cyovaced (vacuum packed).
Cryovaced meat can be kept comfortably in a normal refrigerator for up to six weeks, when it can be frozen if required. Frozen cryovacced meat can last for up to two years in the freezer. Cuts that contain bones may have a shorter shelf life than fresh product, and we recommend that these cuts be consumed soon after delivery, or frozen immediately for later consumption. Our experience is, that once the frozen Cryovaced product is thawed slowly in the fridge, it is identical in quality to the fresh meat on delivery.
To make it convenient for you, the customer, we are packing the meat in 10kg cartons for easy handling. We then deliver to your home (within the Brisbane metropolitan and Sunshine Coast areas) in our specially fitted out refrigerated vehicle.
We will deliver fresh product during the delivery cycle immediately following packing to ensure freshness and flavour. Should there be any un-sold packs, we freeze these down for later deliveries.
We currently deliver into Brisbane on the Saturday after packing (excepting public holidays), or after the Powerhouse Farmers’ Markets on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month, or on Sunday afternoons after the Noosa Markets to Sunshine Coast areas. If Saturdays or Sundays are not possible we try to arrange delivery times that are mutually beneficial.
Customers are also most welcome to pick up their orders at our market stall.
For our customers within designated delivery areas, your carton price includes delivery.
Once we have compiled our delivery schedule for the day, we will contact you with an approximate time of delivery. Someone will need to be at home to take delivery of your order and pack it away into your fridge or freezer.
